Norah's 2 week check

This morning Norah had her two week check up!  Her regular doctor was out of town so we tried a different pediatrician in the office and Gaetan really liked him.  :)  Dude went with him today so that meant it was just me, Mom and Lucy... it was nice having the one on one time with that crazy little miss.  And she was good because there wasn't any competition for toys or anything else either one of them might desire that the other child has...

However, it tired me right out.  It's amazing what little it takes to make me so tired, but when Gaetan got home with the other two it was definitely nap time for this Momma.  Dr. Uche was pleased with how Norah was doing at her check up.  :)  She is a healthy eater and gained enough weight.  She had gone as low as 8 lbs 5 ozs... and most of the time they just hope that the child gets back up to birth weight at this check but our little over achiever weighed in at 9 lbs. 5 oz!  She grew to 55 cm (about 1/2 inch more) and her dome was 14 inches (1/2 inches more too).  The Dr was pleased so that means that she doesn't have to come back until her two month check... which if she hadn't been growing she'd have to come back next week.  Gaetan said that she woke up long enough to deem the Dr OK and went back to sleep.... while Dude read 'Cars and Trucks and Things that Go' to the nurses and anybody who would listen.

She did have to get one last lab done though to determine that she was processing the bilirubin just fine without the biliblanket.  Her poor feet have so many cuts on them from all the draws she's had to have... :(  It's would've been so much harder if she would've cried everytime she got poked, but she didn't.  She's a champ.  And the results are in!  She is processing everything just fine and won't have to get poked again for that any time soon.

We are thankful that we have such a sweet little girl who is healthy.  We are truly blessed!  I love snuggling and holding her in the wee early hours of the morning when it's just us, in the quiet.  Trying to appreciate all the small moments...
