The outing that Gaetan took the kids on when everybody needed a break was simple yet effective. They started out at Schuler's where they read and played. It's so nice that our kids enjoy things like going to book stores and reading. It's a nice quiet, calm activity and it's free! Whoo! And this is a nice way to when the kids outnumber the adults (which is going to be always from now on...) Generally they go to Barnes and Noble, so I bet this was a nice change of pace. They have a train set there too, but they also have a log cabin. Dude didn't want to leave and told Gaetan that there was a house there and he could just sleep in there... what a sweet silly Dude. But... they did something cool after the book store!

On a different outing they hit up the mall again. Dude had requested that they play at the tree area, and we generally don't go there because the kids who are there are bullies and their parents don't pay attention to them, but lately it hadn't been so bad. Lucy was more interested in the hand sanitizer this time (like Dude used to be when he was younger) but she still had fun. Dude just literally ran in cycles the entire time. Gaetan took a video of Lu playing in a tunnel and every so often you would just see Dude whizzing by... a little Dude blur.

The weather was pretty nice so Gaetan took them to the observation area where you can see planes land and take off at GR's airport. I don't know what it is but there is something magical perhaps about watching planes come and go. When they got home all Tristan could talk about where the planes and what they learned. Now every time we hear a plane the kids look for a plane in the sky until they see it! Gaetan thinks that when the weather is nicer we could do a picnic there because there are tables and stuff. I guess there is some space for the kids to run around too, so in between the action they got some exercise.
It was a very clever idea to take them there. Something new, outdoorsy and relaxing for the adult. All sorts of things we like. :)
