Lucy's 2nd Birthday Weekend

We celebrated Lucy's birthday with my parents the weekend before her actual birthday.  It was funny because that Wednesday we had left their house after being there for over two weeks and then a few days later the kids wanted to go back!  They kept asking to go back and we weren't sure if we were going to, because it was dependent on how I felt... but I had gone on a few outing since being home and did all right.  :)

Of course, it was Saturday so that meant it was pizza and beer night.  Dude told us that along with having pizza that he thought it would be a good idea to sit down and have a beer too... haha.  I felt like a lame-o because I obviously wasn't up for a lot of festivities... so I felt badly that Lucy's birthday wasn't going to be super exciting.  Although, she didn't really seem to care... she was just happy to be at Grandma and Don's again!

We did get her some big girl unders and some more girly looking sheets since she has kept her bed dry for over a month now!  We got her this really fluffy pillow and she thought it was hilarious!  She tackled it and then just hugged it and laughed and laughed.  So, it was a good thing that she doesn't care if there wasn't a big deal on her birthday.  Mom made her a Hippo cake (the hippo looks like her pal that she picked out) and they enjoyed that.  We even got some sparkling white grape juice in fancy cups  so they wouldn't feel left out when Grandma, Don and Papa had their fancy bubble juice.

She ended up putting on a few pairs... and this is her tackling the pillow

They played hard and then they danced while Don made up songs on the guitar and let them play the guitar too.  We didn't end up spending the night like we usually do because I wasn't up for all that quite yet.  But, they had a lot of fun and it was low key... perfect!  :)
