The next time she came over was the next day from the 'talk'. We were gonna go to the zoo with Oma Oma but it was going to be bad weather the entire day so we just hung out here instead, which was really nice. After we had the talk with her all she said was that she wanted the visit to be nice and it not to be awkward. And the thing I think she doesn't understand is that we weren't going to hold this over her head and we werent' mad. As soon as we said what we had to, that was pretty much that... and I know that's not how she operates, so she didn't understand it. But the visit was good. Oma Oma was really impressed with the kiddos at how bright they are and how much they pick up on. :)
The next visit was a quick one. It was as they were driving through to drop Zoe off at Chicago. Zoe wanted to see the kids before she left one more time, and wanted to give Dude his present. So, they stopped by and did just that! It was the Monday of Gaetan's qualifier, so he wasn't here, but the visit went really well. Dude got a train from Mike's Mom, some fun cooking things from Karl Jan, a book from Zoe and Ingrid brought some of Gaetan's old dinosaurs. This was the first time that I met Karl Jan, who is their cousin. He lives in Belgium and was just visiting the states, so that was really cool that I got to meet him! We had some left over birthday cake and coffee before they had to hit the road. :)

I think that Oma Oma and Karl Jan have flown back to Belgium and I'm really glad we got to see them a handful of times while they were here. :) And even as uncomfortable as it was to have that conversation I'm glad that we did, because that made all the visits we had way more enjoyable!
