Hanging out with the Dude

Yesterday I had the rare privilege of hanging out with Dude one on one.  Poor Lucy is cutting the last of her teeth and is having a fairly rough time with it, so despite the fact that she woke up multiple times during the night, and got up fairly early in the morning she went down for her nap at 10:30... and that was me keeping her up as long as possible.  So that meant that Dude and I had some rare alone time together.  :)

It was lovely.  I miss the times of us just being able to hang out together.  Don't get me wrong, I love Missy Miss a ton, but there is something to be said about spending time with just one of the kids.  He thought it was a blast.  Once she was down he got to play on his computer for a little bit... uninterrupted.  Which is a rare treat for him.  If he does get to play on his computer when Lucy is up she is all over the computer, and most of the time ends up turning it off.  So, he got to have some quality time with Reader Rabbit.  That allowed me to do some cleaning up :)  After that, we spent some time reading together and just relaxing.  He thought that he was getting a bit extra special treat because normally after I put Lucy down then we get ready for our rest/nap time quickly after... so I think he thought he was getting to stay up way late :)  We had some fun snacks together... chips and candy and such.  :)  Living it up big time!  haha.

When Dude gets ready to read for his nap he gets out this Hippo book from the library for Hippo to read.  It's adorable.

When normal nap time rolled around we got ready and picked out some of his favorite books to read in bed.  Unfortunately, because Lucy went to bed so early, by the time we got settled in and resting we were probably only in bed for about 30 minutes.  I let Dude sleep a little longer but Lucy eventually ended up waking him up.

So even though it wasn't that long in the morning with me and Dude we had a good time.  :)  I love you sweet Dude.
