The Burrows

It's funny how you stay connected with people and how you are apart of their lives in different ways.  I first met Monica at church in middle school going on a work camp.  She was the adult chaperone who was driving our van and she was a RIOT.  She is the type of person that when you first meet them you feel like you've known them your whole life.  She genuinely cares about what you have to say and who you are.  It's refreshing... and there aren't a lot of people that I've met like her!  We continued to go on lots of missions trips together, which was great to make those memories with her!

Then, I ended up teaching their youngest son the violin for a bit.  Their oldest son and I were in a lot of church musicals together, and we went to the same high school too.  Their middle son and I played ball at GRCC at the same time, so I would see him a lot at practice.  Then, Gaetan ended up tutoring their youngest son in math in prep for the ACT.  So, we've had a lot of random interactions with the Burrows, which is a good thing!

The funniest thing happened though.  My mom somehow butt-texted Monica a picture of the kids... which of course got us talking again.  Since we had moved and stopped going to Cornerstone we didn't really see them a whole lot.  That prompted her to invite us over for a BBQ, and a pool party!

Duder had met Monica when he was a wee baby, and Lucy had never met her before.  So she was really excited about it.  As mentioned before, she has 3 boys so is was dying to get her hands on Lucy.  :)  We had a great time.  We just hung out, talked, ate, and the kids went for a dip in their pool.  Monica is the type of person I would leave my kids with and not even think twice about it.  She loves playing, but she can be stern when she has to be.  If you've seen her boys you'd understand why!  They're HUGE!  Dude had so much fun playing with her he didn't want to leave.

It was just super relaxing and nice to hang out and catch up.  :)  Its amazing to have those friends that even though you haven't seen in awhile you pick right back up where you left off without missing a beat.  Looking forward to the next time we can hang out.
