Valentine's Day

We aren't a family (or I guess couple) that gets into these types of holidays... but we do have a tradition for Valentine's Day.  We normally get take-out chinese, but this year we went to the restaurant with our little goobers.  Since we've been together we have gone to my favorite place in Caledonia, but that seemed a bit far of a drive just for dinner, so we tried out a place in Kalamazoo.  We originally had tried getting delivery from them earlier in the week but it took WAY too long.  I ended up having to leave for rehearsal before I got there, and by the time it actually did get there it was way longer than an hour since we had called.  Stink.  So, we decided to give the place a chance dining in, since that's what most of the native Kalamazoo-ians suggested.

It was really good!  The kids seemed to really like it a lot too.  After we went there Dude kept telling me that he wanted to go back to the Hunan Restaurant. haha.  The rest of the day was really low key since I wasn't feeling the greatest and was really tired for some reason.  The kids and I ended up making these Valentine Cupcakes that Ingrid sent in the mail.  The idea was nice, and it was easy enough for Dude to make, but I have yet to eat one... they kind of scare me.  But Dude and Lucy both say that they are good... so I will just let them eat them  :)

We had a craft time and Dude colored this picture of a kite, with some purple and blue wind, with clouds, sun, birds and a rainbow.  I was impressed!

Gaetan and I did NPR valentines again this year :)  I like our low key holidays.  So, here's to my Champion (Yes, thank you Downton Abbey for that phrase) on this 'lovey dovey' day.
