My parents are so cute. Old and crotchity yes. But they are so funny. My Dad purchased an iPad the same day that we purchased a van (big spenders that day haha!) and unlike any other person who just got a fun new gadget didn't even open it days later. We did the whole thing on Wednesday and when we came to visit that weekend it was still in its packaging... So we busted that thing out after the kids went to sleep and got him up and running.
It was so funny. My Dad was the one who has wanted this iPad for months now, but didn't want to impulsively buy one without actually thinking he would be able to operate it, but he finally did it. I was proud of myself because I actually got all the set up done myself and then G showed them the finer ins and outs of it. The thing that my Dad really wanted we found some good apps for, and the thing that my Mom really wanted was to make sure NetFlix was working...
I think the funniest thing was as soon as we were done setting it up my Mom took over looking at it and trying to figure it out. She was all, "Don, I told you if you got this thing you were going to use it..." as she won't relinquish it for him to figure it out! haha. I think she just got herself a fun little toy.
I think that my Dad is most excited that he will be able to facetime with my sister and see the other grandkids :) But, I'm glad that they got it up and running with minimal headache! I'm glad that these things are so user friendly. But there is definitely a gap in generations even with technology like this! haha. I'm interested to see what they will have when we're older and we are all like, "Back in OUR day we only had smart phones and touch screens... haha"
