New Ride

We had quite the busy and filled day on Wednesday!  It started off with my Dr's appointment, and then we headed over to my parents house because Gaetan was going to help my Dad pick out an iPad.  My Dad has been circling this idea about getting an iPad for a long time, but he likes to mull things over... and over... and over... especially when it deals with new gadgets and such.  After they went to look at iPads, which apparently my Dad got a great deal on! they went to look at mini-vans.  So, it was this nice little Gaetan helps Dad with gadgets and my Dad is more experienced with cars and such... it was nice.  They both did a little bit of researching on the mini van front, and then they went looking.

We had been talking about getting a bigger mini van for quite some time... well, probably about 32 weeks.. haha.  The white Montana we had was just fine for when we had two kids, but the idea of putting another carseat in a pretty full van already left us with no extra wiggle room... literally.  The double stroller took up so much space it was unreal!  And the Montana was a mini mini van so there was no trunk space after the last row of seating, thus the limited space once you put a double stroller in the spot of one of the rear seats.

We honestly were just going to keep our eyes open but weren't really going to be doing any active hunting.  But, I guess this was the day that we were supposed to get a van!  Gaetan and Dad found a really great deal (semi in our price range) on a 2010 Honda Odyssey... my dream vehicle!  haha.  No, really it is.  I know it sounds ridiculous but when you're cargo is going to be at least 3 children and their stuff this is where it's at.  AND it came in my favorite color for the Odyssey... charcoal grey.  The Odyssey has the best crash safety tests and they last for a long long time... so I'm hoping that this one will!

There she is in all her glory.. snow and all!  haha
Our new key!
It was a bit of a whirlwind day.  From the mindset of just thinking that they are looking at vans to "hey, I'm test driving one right now and am going to drive it over so you can tell me what you think" is a lot for this Momma to handle!  Of course, once I saw it and got to sit in it was there wasn't anything I could complain about... and the room!  Oh the room!  Oh the room, room, room, room, room!  (So we may have been reading a lot of Dr. Seuss lately...) It was amazing.

So, we did it.  We bought a new mini van.  I had very mixed feelings about the whole thing.  EXCITED of course!  This is the first vehicle that I have ever bought ever!  But there is that feeling of... "crap, that is a lot of money..."  Then there is all that signing our life, I mean name, on everything which makes is so official... but after we got it back to my parents house and the kids all settled in and started driving it home it was great.  It drove so nicely in the crappy weather... it was a bit of a tank.  :)

I still feel like it's a bit of a rental right now because it's so CLEAN and NEW!  We are definitely going to try and keep it that way for as long as possible, but we know how that is with small children.  :)  So, here's to our new ride and all the space that is for our kiddos.
