Snowman and Igloo

Ever since Dude and Lucy had so much fun during their sledding adventure we've been trying to get them back outside.  Our plan was to go early to my parents house Saturday afternoon before the Chinese New Year celebration and play since the weather looked like it was going to hold out nicely, but he was behaving so badly we stayed home so they could nap instead.  :(  But it all worked out in the end!

Sunday after church the rain had held off and it wasn't to cold out.  Dad looked like he was really interested in taking Dude outside, so we stayed around GR a bit longer than we normally do so we could get some play time in.  He did a little bit of sledding but was really interested in what my Dad was doing... making a snowman.  That snowman came together in a hurry!  And it was really tall!  We were trying to think of stuff to decorate it with and I luckily had brought a spare carrot from our recipe for the New Year so we put that as the nose... my Mom hunted up some bottle caps for the eyes and then sticks and such for the arms and smile.  It turned out to be pretty cute.  :)

After that they couldn't be finished so they went on to make an igloo.  My Dad got some snow shovels out and got Dude a little gardening trowel... haha.  They were having a lot of fun.  I was feeling pretty tired and having some contractions so I stayed inside with Lucy.  And, honestly, I didn't pack their snow stuff because I didn't think that they were going to have time to play in the snow, but we did have enough clothes and stuff for them to play outside and stay warm!  The igloo was extra fancy and had a window in it and everything.  Dude went in it, as he was the only one who could fit into the opening, but he had a blast.  :)  Hoping that the weather will be nice this weekend so that they can play some more outside.
