34 weeks

I had my 34 week check up yesterday at the OB's office.  From here on out I will be downtown instead of with the PCP that we normally see.  The whole family went this time which is always an adventure... the waiting room is the hardest part of the visit because the kids just want to run around, but we did bring some activities for them to do so they did well.  :)  Snacks and coloring is always a good thing!  I actually had quite the interesting check in... they told me I didn't have an appointment, but seeing how we drove all that way I wasn't not going to be seen by somebody.  But, then they figured it out and I was in the system as a mystery patient because I am a transfer and they initially put the wrong person in my appointment slot!

I had to meet with a nurse and we did the whole chat about nutrition, and making sure that I hadn't started smoking and binge drinking since my last appointment.  My blood pressure was good along with my iron, so no anemia for me!  :)  She also went over my glucose test which was much appreciated.  I did the test but then didn't hear back from them about it, so I just assumed I didn't have it, but she actually went over the numbers with me.  She said that they are happy with any number under 130 and I was 86 :)  So I apparently can metabolize all the sugars and things like a pro.

I gained 6 more pounds in the last two weeks (oh boy...) so we are up to 168.  We are at an even 40 pounds... and the nurse said that most people gain 25-30 lbs... And I was thinking, in the first few months?  haha.  But she didn't seem concerned with my weight gain but told me that I should be eating 6 small meals a day... sure lady.

Things seemed to go as normal.  I met with Dr. Matthis, whom I've met with before and really like.  She's always so happy and bubbly even when she's giving alarming news!  She told me that they found trace amounts of blood in my urine which could mean that I am at a higher risk of getting kidney stones.... no good.  So we are hoping that doesn't happen!  Then we went over my alert reaction that I had to the surgical tape last time, so now I am on a steri strip test.  They gave me some of the tape they use to after they take out the staples to see if its the tape or the adhesive they put on there also that irritated my skin... so I have little pieces of tape all over my person haha.

Gaetan tells me it looks like i'm smuggling a beach ball...

I did measure at 35 weeks, which is right on schedule.  :)  She had a strong heart beat at 145 and even stayed in the same area so the nurse could get the dop tones!  How nice of her haha.  Something that was interesting is that they are asking me to count the fetal movements three times a day... which I've never had to do before but oh well.  And Norah is definitely wiggly and moving... so this should be interesting!  They said that if there is less than 10 movements a day then I should call them... but she moves way more than 10 times during one sitting!  So I think we should be safe!  I have been craving PB and J sandwiches and cool ranch doritos... haha.  Interesting.

We have picked a c section date for Norah... March 25th!  Its nice knowing when it will be and having an end date in sight.  Excited for it!
