Girl outting

Last Saturday I got some QT with my girl Ashley.  We were initially going to get our hair done together but she wanted to get hers touched up before I could get there, so I just went and she went for moral support.  :)  It was really hard leaving for the visit actually.  I love love love spending time with her, and most of the time I need to get out but this was on the tail of the shooting in CT and I was feeling the Momma-pangs hard.  We even talked about not going on the visit, but Gaetan said that I should because it's good for me and because we already made the appointment.  So, I went, and I'm really glad that I did, but it was hard to leave the kiddos that morning.

The hair appointment took 2 hours.. yikes!  After that I was REALLY REALLY hungry.  So, we decided to get some lunch and Gato met up with us there.  I was even surprised to see Tally and Pipi!  She had just finished up her masters so they were going to have a celebratory drink with us :)  After we stuffed ourselves silly at the restaurant we went back to their house to make some delicious treats for the kids.

I also was able to get the gift they got me while they were on vacation in Colorado... I was a little nervous at first, because of what they got me the last time they went on vacation, but this was hilarious. Just perfect actually.  :)  They got the kids some ornaments too, which was very thoughtful.

Truth!  haha

This mug is filled with salt water taffy... yum yum!
The little treats we decided to make were chocolate covered cherry mice.  We did a few to see how to make them, but it was really a delicate process and we figured that there was no way that one lady (she got the idea because a co-worker brought them in) could've done this by herself.  So, us, being the brilliant beautiful woman that we are, came up with a new plan of action and it went by much faster and easier.  :)  I think that they turned out adorable and tasty!  When putting the chocolate on for their eyes we had a little fun making them unique.

Our mouse fleet!

Dobby... the ears kept falling down in the chocolate so we left it

Stegarsaurus!

Hugh Acheson... he's a chef/foodie with an impressive unibrow

Cat eating the mouse... haha
After some good talking and going through her closet for free clothes, it was time to go home.  Gaetan always jokes that whenever I go over there I always come home with free clothes... it's a beautiful thing.  :)  The kiddos were already in bed by the time I got home, so I was just going to have to snug them when they woke up.

It's always such a fun time hanging out and not having to worry about the kids.  It's such a blessing to know that they aren't dependent on me for anything and that they are having a blast with their Papa, whom they love so much.  :)  Until our next girl outting...
