Blue hair

Last Saturday I got to have a girls outting with Ratty.  We decided to go to the salon... which is so not like us!  It seems fairly girly... but we had a lot of fun.  She had done her hair with these really sweet red highlights and I got a wild hair (haha) to get some highlights as well.  I've never dyed my hair before, the most I've ever done was curl it! so this was a bit of a step for me.

Because my hair is so dark they had to bleach it first and then add the blue dye.  The whole process took about 2 hours... so it was really nice that she was there to chat with.  I was really surprised at how blond my hair was after the bleach!  I kinda figured it would be an orange-ish color, since that's what happened to my brother's hair when he dyed it.

It was really funny because I had a bunch of tin foil on my head.  I felt like if the aliens were coming I was going to be safe ;)  Because I had never done anything to my hair before the stylist, Carolyn, said it was going to fade pretty fast in the first couple of weeks, but after that it should stay more.  When I got my hair washed for the final time the suds were so blue!  It was crazy!  But, I was really happy with how she did my highlights.  I was worried, because she said it would fade that it would turn a funny green color and I would look silly... but where she put them even if they do and I can't get back right away it won't be to noticeable.  :)

Gaetan really likes my hair, my Mom even said she liked it... and my Dad, the all natural-never-cut-your-hair man liked it!  :)  I am very pleased with my first highlighting experience.
