Rough week

This past week was a pretty rough one in terms of children pushing limits and my patience wearing thin.  I'm not quite sure what is causing it, but Tristan has been pretty naughty this past week.  He's just disobeying blatantly right after I tell him not to do something, he'll look right at me, and then do it.  Or, I ask him to do something and he'll say NO.  Or just be really slow on doing simple tasks that I know he can handle.

He was even so naughty that on Halloween we were supposed to go to his friend's Kai's place all dressed up and trick or treat around their neighborhood that he didn't go.  He is pretty stubborn and he would have rathered proven to me that he could be a stinker than just give up and go see his friend.

I know for about 98% of the time my kids are way better than I deserve and that I wouldn't want to trade them for anything, but this past week I might've.  Lucy was only naughty when she saw him doing something he wasn't supposed to be doing and tried it too, but that wasn't because she was doing it to be naughty.  She likes to try everything out that big brother does, and I don't blame her.  She's in a curious stage, and he knows that she mimics him, which made it even worse.

One of the days I took them out for a morning walk after Gaetan went to work and that seemed to be really helpful.  I'm not sure if it was the cold air or just the fresh air that was good for them.  Maybe both.  They took good naps after that too.  Maybe they were just getting cabin fever, I'm not sure, but whatever it is will hopefully stop soon!

It was a cold cold morning walk.  Lucy all bundled up eskimo style with her hands in her pockets and everything.  :)
Perhaps he's just in that phase to see what his limits are and what he can get away with.  He's spent a lot of time in his room, but sometimes that is the reset he needs.  The hardest part about the week was they would be cry for Papa when he wasn't around.  Not like literally cry, well, Lucy sometimes, but they would just say that they would rather have Papa instead of me around... which hurts.  I know that Papa is more fun and plays harder, but to constantly hear that you're not what they want wears a little.  So, here is to this next week and that it is better!  It's going to busier than we're used too, so maybe that will keep them on their toes.  :)
