This week has been so exciting and full of news, I had to talk about the election. :) Since I had to vote in Caledonia we decided we would do fun things around there. I got to the polls and there wasn't a line at all, so I got right in. The ballot is always a lot longer than I think it is... because, primarily, I feel like we are voting on the President so when there are proposals and other seats you have to vote for it always a surprise! I was in and out of there as fast as I could so I thought that we had plenty of time to go to the Children's Museum. Turns out they changed their hours and their late days that used to be Tuesday and Thursday are now just Thursday... bummer! So when we got there Dude had to use the bathroom, but then we had to leave. :( He did exceptionally well with the let down and I told him we could find something else to do.

The Grand Rapids Public Library is about a block away so we walked there and they used to have this small children's area to play. I think we've been spoiled/tainted by the library in Portage, so nothing seems as awesome as that place! But, the kids had fun playing with letters and they killed a decent amount of time there. We then decided that it was time to eat, and seeing how I thought we were going to be at the CM for quite a bit longer it was good that we went and got food. We asked Tristan what he wanted to eat and his response is always, "sushi." But then he picked Olive Garden because he really likes the kids cups that they give him and he likes to take them home. I'm pretty sure we have more of those cups than regular ones...

The kids did a great job eating and by the time we got them home it was time to get them ready for bed! They were more than ready, since they didn't really nap and we played pretty hard, so it was nice not to struggle through that! Although, really, our kids are a dream to put to sleep so it's not ever really a worry anymore.
Gaetan and I stayed up a bit longer to hang out, and he had some research to do. I was also pretty curious about the election results... and I was SO RELIEVED to find out that Obama had won! :) I think one of the funniest things was my FB wall. I would say 98% of my friends are pretty liberal and are pretty vocal about it, and then there are the other 2% of my friends that still live in West Michigan that were pretty upset. But, what are you going to do? I was pretty jazzed about that before we went to bed and I went to bed thinking of my Dr's appointment the next day! :)
