You know when you are getting near the end of living somewhere and then you start seeing all the things that annoy you about the place that you tolerated before? Yup, that's pretty much were we are. I don't disagree that the units themselves are nice but the people who live here leave much to be desired. I feel like there are cops at our complex about every other day, and for stupid shit too. This neighborhood is so filled with unnecessary drama that could be avoided if parents watched their kids and kids weren't bored so they found naughty things to do to fill their time. I feel badly for the police officers that are wasting their time for disputes that could be handled if the people around here were mature enough to do it. Yes, in the case of Sonny and Margo that needed more attention but the things that are going on here? Ridiculous.
Our neighbor Kim has been the target of bullying ever since she moved in. I'm not entirely sure why but they always have been. She called the cops because some neighborhood girls keyed her car (again) and did something to the gas cap and she didn't know what. Everybody was of course pointing fingers at other people and nobody would tell the truth. She was going to press charges for vandalism is something was really wrong with her car, but it turns out it was just gum in the gas cap and not a whole lot else. It really is sad to see the people here and how much they don't know about anything, and this is as good as its going to get for them. At least for us, we know that this is very limited and that we are going to get out, for a lot a lot of them (if not all) this is their end game.
It also shows with the way they run this place too. There are always residents in the office, spreading more gossip I'm sure, which makes it very hard for karen to get her job done (for the few hours that she's there everyday). We asked about the stupid bushes and it took over a month for them to get back to us! We weren't asking for their resources we just wanted to make our place not look trashy and half dead. There are so many pets around that aren't supposed to be which in our lease says you will be evicted if you have them. They are so inconsistent on what they are going to give write ups on for 'breaking' lease you never know what you can actually count on them for. We just received a letter saying that our security deposit wasn't the right amount and that we owe them money... this is TWO YEARS later. Seriously? You didn't catch it the first time we signed our lease last year? Too friction' bad... not gonna happen.
Then, we had to talk to Karen about the whole Kim vandalism thing and when we went in I asked if we could come in to renew our lease in a few days and Kim said sure. The next night we get a letter saying that we haven't come in to renew our lease and if we don't then our rent could go up a couple hundred bucks or we could get evicted! WTH! So I called Karen and asked her why she didn't tell me I had to do it earlier when I was in there yesterday trying to make an appointment. She said not to worry and that it was just a formality, but it just appalls me that they are so quick on things like that and nothing else.
We can't wait to get out of here and until we do we just keep our heads down and try to fix what ever we can on our own. This place is ridiculous and we are so done.
