The weekend before the fourth at my parents house they shot off fireworks and this was the first time the kids have had any dealing with them and they LOVED it. So, for the actual fourth we were trying to figure out what was around town to take them too. I went running in the afternoon, then had to teach so while I taught G took the kids for a bike ride/walk and then we went to Jordyn's (Ms. Nancy's son) baseball game. He plays travel baseball and this time the tournament was around here so we thought that we'd catch a game. The kids had so much fun! Dude was learning all about the game and hanging out with Josie. It was cute. Afterwards they came over for dinner and then everybody grabbed a quick nap before fireworks. Poor Norah fell asleep on the ride home from the game and when she got up she didn't want to be awake so she went to be super early... like 5:30. But, she woke up the next morning at 8:30 so that was quite the pleasant surprise!
G took the crazies and Nancy and Josie to fireworks. They had a blast. I'm glad that Nancy could tell us where the good fireworks were and all that and I'm glad that the crazies got a chance to see them. Lucy did much better with them this time than last and Dude and Josie had too much fun together. :) I'm not really that big into the actual holiday but if it allows time for family and friends to hang out then I'm all about it.
