Leaf Jumping

Fall is here... which means that there are so many damn leaves in our yard.  It is honestly unreal how many leaves are there!  I like raking... well, I liked raking.  There is nothing that makes you feel older than raking for a day and then being so sore the next day you can't hardly move!  There are so many leaves that we couldn't even move the pile of leaves with the leaf blower or the rakes so we had to use a snow shovel to push them the rest of the day.  In Portage they have leaf pick up three times during the fall and depending on what zone you live in is when they pick up. I wasn't sure if they picked up in our neighborhood because the map cut off right before our street but everybody on our road put their leaves in the road so we did too.  There were so many leaves that it cut the road down to a one lane road and the piles were HUGE!  One of our trees still has a crap ton of leaves on it so i'm not looking forward to taking care of that, but for now, I think we are finally caught up.

The kids had a lot of fun raking though.  They had little rakes the right size just for them and they thought it was awesome.  They did a really good job with it too!  Dude, mostly, but the girls tried.  And, of course, with all the raking came the leaf jumping!  :)  I love that they love being outdoors and using their imagination.  It's awesome.  We even got out the little wheel barrels so they could help move things across the yard.  It makes working outside a lot more fun when you can have the kiddos help.

Here's until the next time we have to rake/leaf blow :)
