Last Sunday my Dad suggested that we go to the beach... and, well, you can't say no. The weather was so nice, but when we got the the actual beach it was pretty windy. The water was a nice temperature but because of the wind it made it seem colder. The kids of course had a lot of fun playing in the water and digging a HUGE hole. We tried to set up the umbrella so Norah could take a nap, but the wind was making it quite difficult. However, Gaetan did rig something up and it blocked the wind quite nicely. We played hard until the kids started to get cold. Before we left Tristan made a friend, of course, and we left the big hole to his family. The kids have so much fun with my parents... I love that they are happy doing things together... just being. Playing. :)

When we got back to my parent's house we all showered and the kids played/gathered in the garden. Unfortunately earlier on Saturday when they were gathering Dude got stung twice in the leg by this hornet/bee thing. He handled it pretty well, and since this was the first time getting stung we had to watch to make sure he wasn't allergic. He isn't :) And I was glad that it didn't deter him from going back out! They had a great time now that the tomatoes are ripe, spotting and actually picking. They, of course love eating green beans and now sampling the broccoli that's come in!

Dude's stings after we put baking soda on it to help it stop hurting |
My Aunt and Uncle have a huge garden and sent us home with some corn on the cob and broccoli. I made some broccoli cheddar soup from it and Dude was SO about the broccoli because he knew where it came from. I love that he is concerned about where his food comes from and that he prefers things grown locally. :) Love that boy.
