Visit from my Sister!

This past weekend my sister and her family drove up from West Virginia for a quick visit.  :)  They had planned on coming earlier but due to the rampant flu that was going through their family they were unable too.  But... everybody is healthy now and they came when I had a concert which was very considerate!

On Friday they arrived in the afternoon at my parents so we wanted to spend as much time with them as possible.  We arrived shortly after they did and the craziness began!  It started out with my sister's dog, Bella.  She's the nicest, most laid back dog one could hope to have around their family but since my kids aren't around dogs they weren't so thrilled about her being there.  The thing that surprised me the most was that my Mom let the dog stay there... INSIDE THE HOUSE!  This is from the woman who has a super sniffer, one that would rival pregnant woman, and hates dog hair.  But I think that she was feeling sorry for the dog being in the car that long and then she would have to get back in the car to go downtown to the family that usually watches her... so she stayed at my parents for the night.  Eventually, our kids got over their fear of the dog and we even had them like her for a bit!  haha.  So, I'm hoping that deters Tristan from asking for a puppy anytime soon... ;)

As always it was a frickin' mad house.  It doesn't matter how well behaved anybody's kids are... when you have 6 kids running around it's going to be chaotic.  Circus atmosphere at best.  And their kids are so big that they make it seem like there are more of them there!  The kids had fun playing together and I know that it's good for my kids to interact with other children.  We celebrated Justus' birthday (my sister's oldest) who is going to be 11!  I can't believe that he's that old already... Now, I'm going to say something really old, but I literally remember the day he was born.  Crazy to think that next week he's going to be taller than I am!  haha.

We had a good time of pizza and cake and ice cream before my kids got cranky and it was time to get going.  I was glad that I got to hang with my sister for a little bit and just chat and see her in person.  It felt great.  :)  I knew that they had plans the next morning to see all their friends from the neighborhood and we were going to be busy hanging out with our own friends before the concert!  It was a go go go! type of weekend!
