Rites of Spring...

We had our first Phil concert this season!  It was the same day as Miss Ava's birthday party so after we did that we had friends over (our faithful supporters) and hung out until the concert.  I made Korean food which takes a lot of prep so I felt like I was cooking all day!  We had an amazing concert and our soloist even joined us after his song to play the Rites of Spring.  Now... I don't know about you but that song is ridiculous to play.  It's very interesting to listen too, not very traditional in the sense of what seems like it should go together but after playing a piece like that you definitely have more of an appreciation for it!

















The next day Jane and I were able to go see our soloist (Jun-Ching) and conductor perform with the Merling trio which was awesome!  It was good/interesting to see Andrew play his primary instrument, since most of the time I just see him on the podium.  He is just as expressive and passionate about the violin as he is about conducting!




It was quite the busy weekend, filled with lots of friends, food, and great music.  I was pretty exhausted by the end but it was well worth it.  :)
