I cut my hair... yes, again. I know I keeping telling myself (and others) that I'm growing it out and to not let me cut it... but it needed to happen. The first time I cut it after the short short cut was to try and get the layers right... and then my hair started growing out in a pretty decent manner, but there was still this big chunk in the back that was mullet-ish. I was loving the fact that I could put my hair back, but it just looked so silly down. I woke up in a funky mood one morning and decided that I was going to cut it off to the shortest length and then the growing out would be just fine. So... I should be able to grow my hair out to the desired length now without any weird awkward stages in the middle. :)
Whenever I get it done at the salon I absolutely love it. It smells fantastic and doesn't look like a hot mess. As you can imagine a mother of three small children I don't spend a lot of time doing my hair... and since I've started running at night I had been going to bed with my hair wet, which is always a gamble on how it's going to look when I wake up. My stylist, Olivia, always laughs at me when I tell her that I don't have a blow dryer and my sister finally convinced me that I should get one. I decided that the reason why my hair always looks cute is because of the blow drying. Holly showed me that they don't have to be expensive and that a cheapo one will do the trick... so I bought myself one for my birthday. Yes, you can buy ones that cost hundreds of dollars but I found mine on sale... $15. What. :) And, I was excited to try it because I wanted to see if I could do the same thing that Olivia did. Turns out I can... and in less than 5 minutes. That was the part that always deterred me from wanting to do it because I just didn't have the time for that... but, I think that I can spare 4 minutes at night. It's amazing. My hair doesn't look like a crazy person in the morning and I actually look presentable. Whoa. I know.

It's long enough to put little french braids in... she is so good at sitting still for it too! |

Mom put a hair screw in her hair. I was impressed that it stayed in :) |
I think because my Mom was never girly, and I think that she might actually pride herself on not doing things like make-up or owning a blow dryer I never had any reason to be exposed to it... but, I suppose I am an adult now and I am finding out that these things aren't terrible. I probably thought that drying my hair would take forever, because, when I was younger I had a lot more of it... but I am finding that there are little things that take a few minutes that I can do that makes me feel more like a person and less like a slob. Which, is always a plus. :)
