Holy moly sweet kitties we've been married for five years already! I honestly can't believe it. It just doesn't seem like we've been together for that long already... yet there is proof that we have been. :) I honestly can say that there isn't anything more that I could want out of this marriage that I'm not already getting. It's fantastic and, I honestly believe, this is what marriage is supposed to be like.
For our anniversary we decided that we should go to the beach that we got married at. Seemed fitting. :) And it would be a bonus for the kids because they love the beach so much! Well... we got to our beloved beach and it was SO WINDY. Norah started to FREAK out because she has never experienced such winds like this before. At first I didn't think that it was going to be a big deal but the sand actually hurt it was blowing so hard. There were some wind surfers that were even calling it quits because they couldn't harness the wind! Lucy was loving it though. The waves were great and she jumped right in. It made me a little nervous so we were always holding her hand so she didn't get swept away, but she couldn't get enough of it! Dude on the other hand... not so impressed. He kept telling us that he was so cold and that the wind hurt (which it did). After a little while I decided that it wasn't worth the nostalgia so we packed up and left. And I didn't realize it but the beach that we got married on has a slow hill that you don't realize until you're carrying kids and all your beach crap up... tiring!
We still wanted to try and do the beach thing so we tried this private beach that we went to before when Amy was in town. It was just a few miles away so it wasn't that big of a deal. However, this beach involved a bit of a hike as well... but I figured if it was nice then it would be worth it. It wasn't as windy as the other but still enough for it not to be that enjoyable. This time Dude had a great time playing in the water and Lucy was real unhappy. She just wanted to be held the entire time and kept saying that she was cold... so role reversal! Norah... still unhappy. So, we decided that we should just call it quits and do something else.
While we were leaving Dude kept telling us how hungry he was for a reuban, so we decided to stop at Marie Catrib's, grab some dinner and then go to the children's museum. :) The server was so impressed that a 3 year old wanted a reuban... he told us, "it was the best order by far today" haha. Well, I tried something new there, the sweet potato and quinoa burger (which is good!) and Dude decided that he liked that better than the reuban! haha. Yup, my 3 year old like weird things.
The children's museum was good but busy. On Thursday they stay open later and they have cheaper admission so a lot of people where there. I was pretty tired and stressed from all the different venues that had tried (and failed) so I was happy to just take Norah into their baby section and let her have some tummy time. The crazies had fun, but I think that they were overwhelmed with all the people there too... the last thing we ended up doing was decorating 'beach bags' which they loved! And it was nice because then they had their own bag and there was no room for fighting over it.
Overall, we had a nice family day. Tiring, but good. I can't imagine doing anything else to celebrate our love and time together. Thank you for being so amazing and continually showing me how much I mean to you daily. Love you lots dear husband.
