Highlight of my summer... my dear friend Amy came to visit Michigan! Whoo! I do get to talk to her daily and we generally Skype on the weekends, which is fine for the meantime, but getting to actually see her.... !!!! Yay! I have been looking forward to this visit ever since I heard that she was going to come and she sent me her flight itinerary. :)
Wednesday I was telling Dude about the rest of our week and I told him that she was visiting and that I was going to pick her up and she was going to hang out with us... in his wild excitement to see her he flung his arms out and incidentally hit righty... As soon as it happened I looked at Gaetan and we both thought, "Hope this doesn't cause a clogged milk duct" because that would mean I was going to get sick with a fever and feel miserable, just in time for Amy's visit. Boo. Well, it turns out it did clog the dang thing. Thursday I wasn't feeling so hot and I could tell that it was going to be bad news. I was crushed. I was in such a crabby mood because 1.) I didn't feel well 2.) I knew that it was going to be the worst on Friday and Saturday 3.) It could've happened at any other time but it had to happen NOW! Seriously?! AHHH!!!

Movie time, complete with popcorn! |
Well, I told Amy that I feared that I was going to be sick during her visit... :( We had a girls day planned when I picked her up from the airport too, and I was hoping that we could keep it. As I was resting up as much as possible (because rest, and constant feeding off the hurt side is the only way to get rid of it) I kept praying "God, you better make this tolerable because I WILL NOT be stopped from enjoying my time with Amy." I'm sure He doesn't like being told what to do, but I also think He knows the desires of my heart and granted me my demand. I did have the full blown fever, but I just kept up on my motrin so it was do able.

They were having a heart to heart |
I was determined to have a good time and we did. I'm glad that she was understanding that i wasn't feeling 100%. I got to gather her from the airport... I love airports. I mean I did get engaged at one, and I love picking up friends and loved ones fresh from their travels! I digress... back to the story. After that we went to my parents so she should shower off the flight (poor girl caught the red eye and was flying all night) and then we were off to get lunch. And what do you get when you're on a girls day? Sushi! Yum yum! We hit up my favorite sushi place in GR, Morado, and Norah slept through the entire lunch so we actually got a chance to enjoy lunch together and I got to eat my food when it came out! Miracles galore! We stopped by Meijer to pick up a few ingredients for dinner, and because Meijer is the place that people who used to live in MI who don't anymore miss most... haha. Then we headed to the Salon for some 'pampering.'
We headed home because the kiddos and husband were really excited to see Amy too! I guess I had to share her eventually. The kids latched on... and she was such a big help with them because I wasn't feeling well. Had some yummy dinner and then after the kids went to bed had good conversation with some drinks and started viewing The Newsroom (which is a fabulous show BTW). But, by this point I was feeling pretty miserable and she was falling asleep so we both gladly called it a night and looked forward to tomorrow!
