Pumpkins and a picnic

A lot has been going on in our little neighborhood due to one family (which I'll write about more later) so doing things outside with the kids hasn't been as much fun as it should be, or been occurring as much.  But, we decided that we were going to do a craft outside because it was so nice and not worry about the other family.  Kim and Chase got these hollow styrofoam pumpkins and some tools and things to carve them with, which was great for our kids because it was going to be a lot less messy than real pumpkins... haha.  They got a chance to pick out what face they wanted to put on there and then we helped them with it.  Dude's looks very much like something he would do... very symmetric.  Lucy's is kind of all over the place but that explains Lucy a lot too!  haha.  The weather was continuing to be beautiful so we decided that we would get a pizza and head to the park for a picnic.  :)

They also like to play a lot of hide and seek and this is where Lucy likes to hide...

There is something so peaceful and nice being at the playground, watching your kids play together and enjoying the fall weather.  We didn't have to think about the crazy that was going on at home and it was this nice little escape.  The way that it should be, and will hopefully be soon.  It was a glorious way to end the day... and we also found out that there is something called the ultimate cheese lovers pizza which is more cheesy (and I like it better than just the regular cheese lovers).  There isn't marinara sauce but a cheesy garlic sauce instead... it's very blonde looking but yum yum yummy.  I'm glad that Kim and Chase are here to share in these nice moments together!
