Halloween Activities

This year on the actual day of Halloween we didn't go trick or treating.  We went to my parents house and hung out with my sister and her kids but it was really rainy and nasty out, so we decided not to go. However, the week before we did a couple of fun things!

Our pumpkin shaped pizza!

The children's museum does an event on Thursday night, which is their discounted time so its usually more busy than normal, but this time with the promise of candies and prizes the line was out the door!  They had to count to make sure that they stayed within capacity and it was wall to wall people.  We went with the cousins and Aunt Holly but didn't stay very long... I was starting to panic with all the people there!  It was definitely overwhelming... You couldn't even really play with anything because there were kids everywhere and the amount of candy/prizes to stress of being there wasn't worth it for me!  I just told the kids I would buy them some candy from the store so we could leave haha.  It was good hanging out with the cousins though :)

The next day we went to Binder Park Zoo for their Zoo Boo.  We went last year and deemed that it was much better than John Balls.  The weather wasn't raining but it wasn't very warm.  Even though I made the dino hoodies we still layered up underneath... we went with Kim, Chase and Kim's twin sister Kathy.  It was a lot of fun.  We even got some candy!  :)  They rode the train, did the candy trail, saw some animals and did their carnival.  Last year we didn't do the carnival games but this year we thought we'd try it and they had a lot of fun.  They both tried a pumpkin toss, a duck picking thing and then Dude did a skunk launch.  And the first time he did it he got it in!  They played on the little playground there for a little bit until we decided that we couldn't feel our hands anymore so we went home and got some dinner.

I was happy that we got a chance to do something for them and it wasn't all about the scary part of Halloween, but the fun part of dressing up and getting free candy!  You know the prank that Jimmy Kimmel wants parents to do on their kids and say they ate all their Halloween candy?  Well, I told Dude that I had eaten all his candy while he was sleeping and he said, "You would."  Eek.  haha.
