Typical weekend

As many of you know a typical weekend consists of going to Grand Rapids for pizza and beer with my parents and spending the night so we can go to church the next morning.  Things have pretty much stayed the same but now that my sister is living a mile or so down the road her family comes over too!  It's quite the full house.  :)  Recently my niece has been training for her 1 mile fun run and so we used part of a beautiful day to go to the track and get her quarter mile run in.  My sister told her that if she ran 3 times a week and finished her run that she could get a barbie at the end of it... not such a bad deal!  So, I ran with Joni for the quarter mile and then we hung out and walked around the track for a bit.







Since the weather has been nice after dinner we usually go outside and play some sort of game.  Tonight it was capture the flag.  We figured that there wasn't any way that Luke was going to hurt his head.  Norah was really excited about the tulips that were coming in because they are right at her level and Grandpa was trying to teach her how to smell them.  She did a great job... but took a big ole bite out of one of them!




Lucy and Norah weren't so much into the game so they were playing.  Poor Norah took a spill off a step and scraped her cute little face.  Her nose got the worst of it but she bounced back fairly quickly. Nothing a little wagon ride couldn't fix!  Now, I have to say that this wagon was the wagon I used to ride in when I was Dude's age... Radio Flyers built to last!!






Then, at some point during the night when my kids look like they can't take anymore everybody packs up and goes home and we go to sleep.  Then, the next morning I wake up and make big breakfast for everyone and head to church.  :)  It's really quite a nice weekend!  sometimes we go over to my parents after church and so does my sister and there is more family bonding.  Sometimes they get on my nerves, but for the most part I am glad that we can be apart of their lives.
