I was able to do a few new things that I had never done before! Surprisingly, with all of my adventures I had never flown out of O'Hare airport! That is a massively large hub. Secondly, I got to experience AZ in the winter time, and I gotta say, I totally understand why people go there during our winters. It always sounds a little crazy when I tell people that the reason why I was flying across the country was to meet two women I met on the internet, through an app.... but, that's what I did and had a lot of fun!
I was lucky enough to be able to stay with one of the women and her family and Fire found me a crazy cheap ticket, so that was my little mini vacation! I flew out of O'hare crazy early in the morning but that gave me time to read my book and that also meant that they weren't going to hit rush out traffic. Once I got there we just hung out and she showed me around a few places. :) It was really chill as we waited for our other fellow SOH user to get there.
I have to admit that I was worried about being hungry on this vacation because I eat a lot... and I don't think people look at me and think this girl needs to eat a lot and often. But, that was not a problem here! We ate, and often, and good food! Admittedly it was a lot of going out, but it was fun to try different places that I would most likely not be able to try again for a long time!
We really did have such a good time just hanging out and living life together. The woman that I stayed with has three kiddos so they are busy with that, and it was fun to play with them and see how they ran their daily lives. They are Mormon so I didn't know if that was going to play into anything, but it really didn't. They don't drink coffee but that was really the only difference, and since I don't drink coffee it wasn't a big change for me!
The weather there was absolutely amazing! And then, when I came back it was in the middle of a freaking blizzard! We did luckily make it home safely but there were a few moments that it looked iffy. It was a whirlwind trip, but I had a lot of fun and hoping we can maybe get the whole family together sometime!
