This past weekend we were lucky enough to celebrate with a high school friend and his beautiful (now) wife. I met Eric when he transferred to Caledonia as a freshman and we have been friends ever since! We've had a lot of mutual friends so that has helped keep us in touch! They actually moved to Kalamazoo after we did (they were living in the Carolinas) and so we've had the opportunity to have dinner with them a few times and G even played on a few co-ed leagues with them.
Their day was absolutely wonderful. It was nice because those mutual friends were at the wedding too so we got to hang out with them! My good friend Jane took on the task of watching all the kiddos while we went and celebrated all day long. It was a bit of a weird sensation being gone all day and then not putting them to bed, but she is a champ and got everything done!
Everything was very classy and well put together. The ceremony was sweet and then the hors d'ouvres were delicious and I tried a new drink and loved that! The reception was fun because there was a lot of silly dancing with high school friends! :) All in all it was a fantastic day/night and we wish Eric and Mary the very best.
The next morning they had this cute breakfast brunch where you could hang out more with the bride and groom and talk. It was a really good idea since a lot of Mary's family is from out of town. They had this fresh OJ machine that was like magic... and if I had a couple extra thousand dollars laying around I would totally splurge and get one! I don't usually like pulp in my OJ but this was magnificent! haha.
