Our sweet Lucy broke the tip of her finger today. :( She was playing outside and had to come in to use the bathroom but our windows were open and the wind took the door and her little finger was in the way. She came over with this unhappy look on her face and showed me her finger but then started to cry. As I was inspecting it she grew increasingly unhappy and I thought that it was her finger (which was turning purple and black) but in reality it was because she still had to pee. So as we were hurrying to the bathroom she tripped over some legos, which she ended up stepping on, and for those of you who haven't experienced stepping on legos... it's not pleasant. We made it to the bathroom in time and by that time I could see that her nail was all banged up and it wasn't a natural color. I asked her to bend it for me and she couldn't. She said it hurt. I went outside and asked G what he thought and he asked her to hold onto his finger and she did with all the fingers but her hurt one. So, we decided that we would take her into urgent care. After we went to the bathroom she wasn't upset but would just say that her finger hurt when we touched certain areas of it.

Poor finger... |
Dude and I stayed home while Norah napped and this is the recap of Lucy's first trip to urgent care. Gaetan said that she was super brave and when the nurses and Drs saw that there was a two year old coming in they were dreading it, but since they didn't hear any crying from the waiting room they were puzzled. As the nurse was asking Lucy the same questions about where on her finger it hurt she got to the tip and asked and Lucy responded, "Just a little bit" How I Met Your Mother Style. The nurse thought it was great. The Dr was super impressed with her because she was such a big girl and didn't fuss or cry or anything. They x-rayed it and saw that the tip was broken, but because her bones are fully calcified yet, there really isn't a whole lot they can do for it. He said in a few days she will probably be almost 100%. It's crazy how fast young kids heal.... but because she was so good the Dr did say that Ice Cream was the one thing that would make it feel better. And the first thing out of her mouth was, "Duder too?" Sweet girly was thinking of Big Brother and making sure that he was going to get a treat too. Again, the Dr was really impressed with her thoughtfulness and maturity for only being 2.

Thumbs up for pumpkin and espresso fro yo! |
So, we went to Y'Opa, the frozen yogurt place, and treated the kids for being so good. She was such a trooper with such a good attitude. We are proud of you sweet girl... beware of doors. :)
