Safari Joe

The library invited Safari Joe up to show off his animals for a lunch show and it was AWESOME.  Nancy had told me that I needed to take the kids and go because his show is so amazing and she was right.  The animals he had weren't the most exotic animals I've ever seen but his presentation was worth it! Even if he would've brought a cat, dog and frog, his show would've still be entertaining.

Dude even volunteered to go up and be a helper for one of the animals which I was surprised by!  He did a really nice job too!  The girls had a lot of fun, as did I.  Again, our library rocks!

Library zoo guy

One of the programs the library has in the evenings is this guy who has his own zoo.  He brought in all sorts of different animals for the kids to see and the crazies LOVED it.  Norah liked it a lot longer than I thought, but it was very crowded and it was starting to get hot.

Something I had never seen before are called sugar gliders.  They were so tiny and they all fit in this bag with the Momma.  They apparently are very chatty so even though they are cute they make obnoxious pets haha.  He had them demonstrate how they glide and jump and the audience couldn't get enough.  The guy who owns all these animals had his daughter there helping with animals and the music and stuff.  It was cute!

There was an armadillo that the kids got to pet, a lynx, a honey badger that stole a rice krispie out of his pocket which the kids thought was GREAT.  A giant snake that they kept in the large crate it was brought in on and a bird.  it was impressive all the different animals he had!  I guess he comes back in the fall with different animals so I would love to take the kids to that!

Big Truck Petting Zoo

The library has so many amazing programs and activities to do throughout the summer and one of their big ones is their big truck petting zoo.  It was CRAZY busy there... and pretty hot.  There were a lot of lines to see the different trucks which the kids, obviously, didn't like but i packed a lot of snacks so that kept them occupied for a little bit.  Nancy told me later that after they were all done there were 970 people that came through to see this.  I would totally believe it with how busy it was.  The kids liked it for a little bit and they got to see Josie which is always a bonus!

We missed seeing Jane there, but with so many people it didn't really surprise me.  But we met up with them after we left and had lunch together.  It was a nice way to end the busy event!

Astronomy Day

So, last year we nerded it up big time at Astronomy Day with the kiddos and they were extra excited to do it again this year too!  G took the older two and did a to of the stations with them, and I chased Norah around as she flitted from one toy to another.  We did get her to eventually make a few things that the had set out, which she enjoyed.  :)  The kiddos came home with a bunch of free stuff too that they liked to decorate their walls with.  Could be worse!  I'm glad that they like learning so much, and that we have a great place for them to do so.
