Norah the ham

Norah is definitely our extrovert and I still don't understand how she can have so much personality in that little body.  I feel badly because I think that I take an unfair amount of pics of Norah vs the other two... but the things she does!  I just can't even... so enjoy, little glimpses of Norah in all her glory.

Wedding

This wedding season has been pretty quiet for me.  I think that we've attended more than I've played at, which isn't the usual case.  I always enjoy when people ask me to play in their wedding because somebody has recommended my talent.  :)  And this was the case for this wedding.  The bride was someone who graduated from Caledonia as well, but several years after.  She is good friends with my old Pastor's daughter, who is the one who recommended I play.  The wedding was beautiful and she sent me all the music that she wanted me to play, which was awesome!  I learned all the music beforehand and just did a rehearsal with the piano player the day before and then the wedding went off without a hitch!

It was fun because our mutual friend was there, so I was able to meet her husband and catch up with her parents, who had been a huge part of my church life growing up.  Just fun to see who you run into and what how lives intertwine.  Congrats to the bride and groom!

Family Exercise

I have noticed that I have gained a bit of weight.  Even though marathon training I was putting on weight, and some might say it was muscle, and it might've been, but I am about 10 pounds heavier than I normally am.  I honestly think that this might be the new norm but at first I wasn't real pleased about it.  Since I didn't have a big race to train for it was up to me to make sure I was motivated to keep going to the gym.  I had been doing a fairly good job but I felt like I needed to do more.  I started doing the NTC workouts more frequently on top of light running days and it seemed to be going well.  Jeffrey is still around but I think he will be unless I have him surgically removed, and well, lets face it, I don't care that much.  There was a particular day that the kids were driving me absolutely crazy so I took them outside and told them that we were going to have family exercise day.  I figured I could get my workout in and hopefully they would burn enough energy to stop being so busy and naughty.  The first day we did quite a bit and Dude loved it!  He kept asking if we could have family exercise day the next day and day after that.  Norah in her typical fashion was out there naked and Lucy was doing her best.  It was pretty stinking cute seeing them do yoga and other exercises.  :)

On Campus Adventures

G has been on campus a bit more this summer semester so that means that the kids have been too!  They love exploring the different places around and their favorite seems to be the little fountain by his building and the sand elevation simulator in the geology department.  We've gotten a few snacks and enjoyed them outside (tried cheese curds for the first time!) and we even scored some free pizza! I like that the kids can enjoy things like being around academic surroundings and can entertain themselves outdoors.

Mosquito Bites and Lucy

My poor sweet Lucy seems to have gotten the reaction to mosquitoes from me... :(  Dude doesn't seem to get bitten at all, but Lucy and Norah both puff up big time.  Norah's isn't as bad as Lucy, but Norah is much more of a scratcher than the other two are.  Poor Lucy got bitten by the eye and her eye got all swollen... she looked so sad :(  But, she is sweet Lucy and even though her eye was super sad looking she kept her spirits high.
