Just last week

Its hard to believe that all that busyness was last weekend!  We survived though!  The batizado went very well, and we are proud of all the people who moved up in cords.  :)

Since then we have just been trying to regroup.  We had an ultrasound to see how big baby Lucy is.  They also did confirm that it is in fact a girl :)  They approximated that she is about 7.5 lbs right now.  That means if she goes to term she will be about a 9 lb babe... just like older brother Tristan!  We sure know how to cook big babies around here... but I like them that way better.  We also picked a c-section date unless she hatches naturally.  So, if she isn't here by the 15th then, she will be for sure!

More exciting news is that Gaetan sent in his letter of acceptance for the PhD program to the TAing job at WMU.  So as of the fall he will be a student again!  I am so proud of him.  I know that he is concerned about providing for us now, since the stipend is a little less than we anticipated, but I'm not worried at all.  I know that God has opened these doors for a reason, and to try to make it all work out now on our own seems faithless.  I know that he's gonna do great and I look forward to seeing what types of things he will be able to do!

It seems that Bugga is transitioning a little better into the new life.  I know that the move, and having all these people around was hard on him.  He's so aware of everything it should've have surprised me that this would affect him.  But he's almost back to his sweet natured self again.  He does get a little upset when he's hungry, but I can't blame him for that ;)

The next few weekends until Lucy is here (which isn't that many more!) seem pretty relaxed which is GREAT.  I'm hoping to have a lot of things in order before she gets here, but we'll see!  Getting more and more eager to have her in my arms than in my ever growing belly.

Busy weekend

This weekend was going to be busy enough but there have been a few small changes that are making it busier yet!  To start out Wednesday night/Thursday morning we went to the hospital because I was having some serious contractions and since I was almost 36 weeks I didn't know if it was something to be concerned about.  Well... they kept me there all morning, we didn't get home til 6:30.  I wasn't dilated at all, but am still having contractions!  They tried to start an IV but blew 5 of my veins before they got one started.  My poor hands/wrists/arms are all bruised up and are pretty sore... ouch.  Luckily, Bugga did very well in the night, which made the visit less stressful for me!

My older brother Dale just moved into my parents house too... which I wasn't aware he was going to do!  So this week has been recovery time with all his stuff that he tried moving in.  To top it off my other brother Jon will be home on leave this weekend.  Let's get a count of how many people at my parents house so far.

Count: 7

However, we are having our capoeira batizado this weekend and we are housing 4 guests.

Count: 11

It gets better yet.  My sister is coming over on Sunday for her oldest sons birthday party.  My Mom is making the birthday cake so they will be over in the afternoon to celebrate.

Count: 17 and that's if they only bring their family.

Needless to say, its gonna be a full house!  I did get taken off of bedrest so at least I can help out a little bit.  But I'm still not feeling the greatest.  I hope that baby Lucy can stay in there for as long as she needs to to fully develop.  We want to meet her, but not that badly!  Pray for safety this weekend, and rest!

Potty training

We are all settled in with my parents... finally!  It's nice to have our own space and have things unpacked.  I know I will most likely be reorganizing things as we live here, but for right now, it's good enough.  Gaetan took on the amazing task of starting to pee train Tristan.  They did that all day Friday, and I got kicked out of the house, so there weren't any distractions.  Apparently, Tristan wasn't a big fan of the training pants, so he just ran around naked all day... let me rephrase, he wore a sock on his left foot.  The left foot that he broke his middle toe on a couple days earlier.  But since he's such a big tough dude it really hasn't seemed to affect him that much.

He did great potty training, even with all the change that's been going on around him.  He's still doing very well with going poopy on the potty.  I think he understands a lot of whats going on... and he doesn't like to poop or pee anywhere else except into his red potty.  :)  things are going well here.  Wouldn't that be great if we got him trained and out of diapers before Lu arrived!

My husband the PhD

We finally got news back about grad schools!  Western offered Gaetan a spot in their PhD program for physics for the fall!  Whoo!  We are so proud of him and all his hard work... and smarts!  That's crazy talk!  PhD in physics... hahaha... it makes all kinds to make the world go round.

They also offered him a TA position... which seems like they pay for your tuition and give you a stipend.  So essentially they are paying you to go to school... and teach some undergrad classes and such.  :)  Unfortunately, it doesn't look like the stipend is a whole lot, so we are praying hard and accessing what we can do to make this whole schooling thing work, and support a family of almost 4!

I know that its a huge relief for him to just have an answer.  We're thrilled that the answer is 'yes' but would've been good with 'no' because then we could've started planning either way.  I have to believe that God opened this door, through all the rig-a-ma-roll we've had to go through in order to get to this point.  We are still continuing to pray about it and what He wants in our lives... but I'm still geeked about it.

Its my wonderful husbands birthday today... so this was a nice present to have.

Almost ready...

Tonight Grandpa and Gaetan got the floors done, and the rooms put back together enough for us to move our stuff in tomorrow!  It will be good having our stuff out of my parents living room and able to have our lives semi the way it was.  It's been interesting seeing how the move and change has affected Bugga.  He's doing generally well with it, but you can tell that he knows something is different.  I think once we get his room set up and things closer to how they used to be he will be generally more good about it.

Another exciting thing is that I got him some training pants!  Hes been doing so well with pooping in his potty and telling us when he has to go that we thought we'd give him a try with the peeing part of potty training.  His little unders are so cute... :)  Gaetan is going to try and do that on Friday with him so that means we all have to get out and let them be.  It will be nice bonding time with them since Gaetan has been so busy helping out with the floors upstairs.

We are very proud of all the hardwork that Papa has been doing.  He's very talented!  Being able to put in hardwood floors and still help me with Momma things... now that I'm getting a little larger (ok, a lot larger) there are certain things that just aren't that easy anymore.  He's been picking up the slack wonderfully.

Hopefully I will be able to have enough energy to take a few pictures of the rooms they did so you can marvel at all their hard work too!  :)

Moving

This week I have been trying to pack up our home.  Little by little, box by box.  I didn't realize how hard it is on a pregnant body!  I am exhausted... and probably a little overdone, but it had to get done.  We did get everything moved out of our apartment and into the new place.  :)  I am looking forward to being able to get everything put away in its proper place.

We had lots of help from my parents and a good friend.  I am thankful that I didn't have to move things down three flights of stairs... instead I had the hard job of watching Bugga ;)  I am looking foward to the new things that this move will bring and getting out of apartment life!
